My house just LOVES ranch dressing. They eat it on just about everything. I've also found that they will even try new things as long as they have their security blanket of ranch dressing at the ready. I use this recipe as a dip and if I want to have dressing, I simply add milk till it is the dressing consistency that I desire. The lemon juice is key to this recipe. It gives it a buttermilk flavor. Make this ahead if you can, it tastes better when the ingredients have time to blend together. It keeps for about a week if it is refrigerated in a sealed container.
Ingredients:
1 Cup Sour Cream
1 Cup Real Mayonnaise (I love the flavor of Spectrum Naturals Organic Mayonnaise)
Lemon Juice of half a lemon
4 Tablespoons Dill (more to taste)
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Pepper
Directions:
1. Mix sour cream and mayonnaise in a bowl
2. Squirt juice of half a lemon into the mixture holding the lemon cut side up. This will make sure the seeds don't get into the mixture.
3. Stir in dill, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
4. Enjoy!
