1 cup onion, diced
2 cups fat-free low-sodium broth of your choice
6 oz canned tomato paste
4 oz green chilies, chopped (2 giant jalapeños weight about 4 oz)
1 tsp cumin
16 oz (1.5 cups) boiled black beans
16 oz (1.5 cups) boiled navy beans
1. In large soup pot, sauté the onion over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, adding water if necessary to keep onion from sticking in the pan.
2. Add the broth, tomato paste, chilies, cumin, and beans. Bring to a boil.
3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
