150 g butter, softened
300 ml white wheat flour
75 ml cold water

Prune or applesauce

1 egg, beaten
Mix the soft butter and the flour with a wooden fork in a bowl.
Add the water and mix the dough into an even mix.
Roll the dough on a flat surface into a sheet about 1 cm thick.
Fold the sheet three times. Turn it legnthwise in front of you and roll it out again into a sheet about 1 cm thick.
Repeat the folding and rolling two more times.
Let the dough harden in the refrigerator.
Roll the dough out into a sheet roughly 1/2 cm thick. Cut 8-cm side squares with a doughboy. Cut the corners, place a dollop of prune sauce in the center, and fold into the traditional star shape. Use water to seal the "seams".
Brush the stars with egg.
Bake at 225 C in the center of the oven 10-15 minutes. A convection oven is best.
