This is a yummy and easy soup to throw together. Cheese compliments broccoli and potatoes so well. Ultimate comfort food when the weather starts to get colder. I love to serve it with homemade rolls or bread and a salad. I make it with skim milk to cut back on calories but feel free to substitute whole milk or half-and-half for a creamier soup. If I'm really short on time, I just throw in a can of diced, already cooked potatoes towards the end of the cooking time until they are heated through. If you want a thicker soup, just add desired amount of flour mixed until smooth with an equal amount of water. Mmmmmm....
Pale lager beer adds the mellow flavors of barley, hops, and malt to a rich vegetable stew. The secret ingredient is quick-cooking tapioca, which thickens the stew and gives it a glistening sheen.
If you like loading your baked potatoes will all those delish dairy ingredients, then you'll love this soup recipe, too! Original recipe calls for only four slices of bacon, but I - being a little piggy - love the bacon, so we always use more like 8 to 12 slices. You decide which you prefer.
When it's cold out and I'm busy, there's nothing I like more than a hot soup for dinner...and even better if my slow cooker has done all the work for me. This Slow Cooker Potato
I love gardening and have a big pumpkin patch. A few years ago when our harvest was very plentiful, I experimented and came up with this recipe. My family just loves this soup.
