I love mushroom barley soup and I was originally making one that took about 3 hours to cook. This one is so simple and easy and takes a third of the time. If you like mushroom barley soup, you will really like this. It's perfect for a cold winter night.
Easy to make and delicious. Vegetable broth, barley, and lots of veggies make this soup hearty and filling. I use and recommend organic products. Please add a review if you make it. Enjoy!
Root vegetables and lentils cook all day in a slow cooker with a mixture of spices to deliver a comforting, vegan-friendly soup perfect for a chilly fall dinner.
Black beans mingle with onions, peppers, garlic, cornmeal, and spices in this tasty taco filling. Try it in burritos or as a dip for tortilla chips. No black beans? Red, pink, or pinto beans are great subs.
This recipe is the closest I've come to imitating the heavenly Phad Thai I had in London. It's a little sweeter than the Phad Thai dishes I've tried in the U.S. Raw cabbage and/or carrots may also be served on the side.
This is a very easy recipe (just the kind I like!) that I got from my sister-in-law. I like to make it in winter as a way to capture the barbecues of summer.
'I associate asparagus with spring-time...and its beautiful green color with new life,' shares Lynn Vogel of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 'That's why this delightful soup is the perfect started to our family's Easter dinner each year.'
Brisket is rubbed with spices and liquid smoke and then cooked in a slow cooker with barbeque sauce until tender and juicy. This calls for just enough barbecue sauce for that smoky flavor while still allowing the flavor of the meat to come through.
'These potato packets are so easy to prepare ahead of time, then pack in the cooler for camping trips or picnics and toss on the grill when needed,' notes Darlene Brenden of Salem, Oregon. 'The mayonnaise, seasonings and cheese really coat the potatoes and turn them into something special.'
Even kids who don't care for vegetable soup may enjoy this one. Very good flavor. Sometimes I use crushed tomatoes with garlic, onion, or basil now that they're available. Turkey smoked sausage is great in this recipe!
A great side dish for fennel lovers, originally from a friend in Israel. I have used water instead of broth, with some added salt and seasoning. I have also replaced the mustard seed with regular mustard.
